  1. I am interested in the many unrecognized ( ill) effects of marijuana, having studied its structure along with that of other psychoactive drugs under NIDA funding for PhD and Post Doc research decades ago with Monty Kier. I follow Yale's Samuel Wilkinson ( and others) regularly now via PubMed. Title to Wilkinson review of outcomes for use in PTSD: Marijuana use is associated with worse outcomes in symptom severity and violent behavior in patients with post-traumatic stress disorder

His review of literature on "medical" marijuana found no real correlations in a meta analysis (not surprising in meta analysis) and he correctly, in my view, recommended well controlled clinical trials before any medical claims be made, which is simply standard FDA/CFR requirement for any OTC drug. Trump's FDA did some things right (I am not without opinions) by authorizing four additional locations to grow research grade marijuana to conduct such badly needed research so we actually know what we're doing before more rampant legalization.
